Michael was born into one of New York’s most violent and feared Colombo crime families.
It was like a rite of passage to become part of the criminal underworld, or as they used to call it “the family business.” Michael was VERY good at what he did for the family.
At his most affluent, Michael was generating between $5,000,000.00 to $8,000,000.00 PER WEEK from both legal and illegal business. The lines were well and truly blurred between power, luxury, respect, and violence. In 1986, Michael was named one of the biggest money earners the mob had seen since Al Capone by Vanity Fair and at 35, Fortune Magazine listed him as #18 on the list of “Fifty Most Wealthy and Powerful Mafia Bosses” – just five behind John Gotti. Where most would use force, intimidation, and violence to get ahead and what they wanted in my world… Michael used something 100x more powerful: Ambition, Strategy, and Negotiation. At the time, the most important thing in Michael’s life was evading capture and continuing to live this criminal life of indulgence and invincibility. Everything changed when he met Camille. In the pursuit of trying to be a better man for her, Michael took the rap on racketeering charges, pled guilty, and accepted a 10-year prison sentence. Michael used the law as a tool for total transformation in his life. Michael also did what no person has ever done before: Michael was the first to walk away without protective custody and survive. He turned his skillset from his family business into good. Michael now uses his experience to help corporate executives, professional & student athletes, at-risk youths, and church audiences. Michael is a real example now for the world to look at and get better from.
