After his doctor told him he’d be dead in two weeks, Stefan sought alternative cancer treatment. He then made his annual trip to the jungle where he fasted for 40 days and grew a beard. Stefan has gone to the jungle for the last three years. On previous trips, he did a 30-day water fast and an 18-day water fast and was inspired to write Hard Times Create Strong Men. [0:16:44] Vitamin B17 and Other Medical Controversies

Oddly, alternative treatments have been discredited or banned in most cases. People in the medical field risk being exiled for advocating stuff like Gerson Therapy. Scurvy is caused by a vitamin C deficiency and perhaps a vitamin B17 deficiency is responsible for cancer. Stefan’s colon has been cut out, but that doesn’t mean he’s exempt from routine scans to monitor ulcerative colitis.  G. If someone has a loved one with cancer, Stefan recommends they read World Without Cancer and also do research because there’s a lot of information out there. A fast is always great but you must follow instructions when it’s time to refeed. After the 40-day fast, he ended up in ICU because he lost all his electrolytes–a consequence of disobeying the refeed rules. People talk about being successful without stopping to think what success means and unfortunately, society attaches money to success. Brad’s ambition is to have enough money to be able to help many people. Perhaps one day he will sponsor a cancer patient who can’t afford the 40-day fast in the jungle, as long as they’re prepared to finish the program. People usually abuse charity when there are no conditions attached to it.

What is a man in money? What is a man in sex? What is a man in religion? These are areas Stefan explores in the book Hard Times Create Strong Men. When a man puts his purpose first, that usually makes him attractive to women. Stefan is an English major, gifted in writing, and he has written five books. Stefan’s passion is storytelling. The two things that he’s good at are writing and selling, and when combined, they turn into marketing. The way he sees it, he’s a living experiment. He does experiments on himself and then writes a book about it to share what works and what doesn’t. You can learn from other people’s mistakes–you don’t have to learn the same mistakes someone else already learned.

On day 43 in the jungle, Stefan came close to a breakdown, experienced what he calls an “ego death,” and then found God. He’d been reading his grandfather’s 100-year-old bible and it dawned on him that he’d just spent 40 days living as Jesus did. All religions point to the same source–there’s probably a source of energy in the universe and that’s what we call God. The spiritual realm is real. If you violate spiritual laws, you get mess up but if you follow them, you prosper.

The difference between Jesus and philosophers like Aristotle and Socrates is that Jesus went public with the secret or the truth he’d discovered. Parents nowadays cripple their children by denying them the experience of hard times. Stefan was introduced to Atlas Shrugged, and it transformed him into a hardcore capitalist.
